Abstract
A damping device a percussion rock drilling device that incorporates a hydraulic fluid-operated damping piston (14) with a shoulder (16) for energy absorption. The shoulder (16) separates a first hydraulic chamber (21) located in front of the shoulder (16) and a second hydraulic chamber (22) positioned behind the shoulder (16) along the stroke direction. The device comprises throttling orifices (18) and leakage paths, providing dynamic control of hydraulic pressure between the first hydraulic chamber (21) and the second hydraulic chamber (22).
