Abstract

Disclosed herein is an air handling unit (AHU) (100) for use with an air conditioning system. The AHU (100) comprises a housing (102) defining the shape of the AHU (100), through which air is moved; a heat exchanger (110) is disposed inside the housing (102). The heat exchanger (110) is configured to facilitate a transfer of heat to and from the air moving through the housing (102). The AHU (100) further comprises a diagonal-flow fan (120) disposed inside the housing (102), wherein an air inflow into the fan (120) and/or an air flow path through the fan (120) is substantially axial, aligned along an axis of rotation (112) of the fan, and wherein the AHU (100) has a height-to-width ratio in a range between 1.8 and 2.0.
