Abstract
A method of performing thermal management of an energy storage device (240; 702) includes providing an energy storage device (240; 702) selectively connectable to an air conditioning system and including a plurality of individual cells (702a-702e). The method includes evaluating a temperature of the plurality of individual cells (702a-702e) to determine a most relevant temperature parameter of the energy storage device (240; 702), comparing the most relevant temperature parameter of the energy storage device (240; 702) to a desired operating temperature range of the energy storage device (240; 702), and adjusting one or more parameters associated with the energy storage device (240; 702) in response to determining that the most relevant temperature parameter of the energy storage device (240; 702) is outside of the desired operating temperature range.
