Abstract
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities associated with film model estimation. The device may include a processor configured to determine a dispersion value associated with a block in a picture. The device may determine whether to use the block for film grain analysis based on the dispersion value of the block. The device may, based on the determination to use the block for film grain analysis, add the block to a list of blocks for film grain analysis. The device may derive a film grain model for the picture based on the list of blocks for film grain analysis.
