Some embodiments of a method may include: obtaining avatar animation information, wherein the avatar animation information comprises a UV animation stream format, animation data, and a reference to a UV set; determining whether the UV animation stream format is supported; determining whether the referenced UV set supports the UV animation stream format; and animating an avatar using the animation data and the referenced UV set
