Abstract

A mobile fruit harvesting machine (100), comprising: a conveyor (202) configured to receive harvested material (210), the harvested material (210) comprising a mixture of fruit (212), fruit juices (214) and debris (218), and convey the harvested material (210) in a conveying direction (C) through a separation region (204); an airflow system (206) configured to direct an airflow (208) through the harvested material (210) in the separation region (204), the airflow (208) being angled substantially non-parallel to the conveying direction (C), such that the fruit juice (214) is suspended in the airflow (208), and an impingement surface (220) for collecting at least part of the fruit juice (214) from the airflow (208), the impingement surface (222) comprising: a collection region (222) for collecting fruit juice (214) from the airflow (208);a delivery region (224) for directing the collected fruit juice (214) into a juice receptacle (230); and a juice flow path (223) configured such that the collected fruit juice (214) flows from the collection region (222) to the delivery region (224) along the juice flow path (223).
