Abstract

A mobile fruit harvesting machine (100), comprising: a conveyor (302, 402, 502) configured to receive harvested material and convey the harvested material (310) in a conveying direction (C) through a separation region (304, 404), the harvested material comprising a mixture of fruit (312) and debris (318, 319); and an airflow system (350, 450) configured to direct a separation airflow (308, 508) through the harvested material (310) in the separation region, the separation airflow causing the fruit and debris to follow differing flow paths (312A, 318A, 319A) through the separation region, wherein the airflow system comprises: an outlet unit (356, 456, 556) comprising a plurality of outlet vents (3560, 4560, 5560) located underneath the separation region, the outlet vents being configured to direct the separation airflow upwards through the separation region; and an intake unit (354, 454) for supplying a supply airflow (409, 509) to the outlet unit, the intake unit being spaced away from both the fruit and debris flow paths.
