Abstract
An implant extractor including a housing, a shaft having a threaded proximal end and movable within the housing, a pair of jaws operatively connected to a distal end of the shaft for engaging an implant, and an adjuster having a threaded distal end operatively engaged with the threaded proximal end of the shaft and operable to move the shaft and the pair of jaws between a first position and a second position. In one aspect, operation of the adjuster, to move the shaft distally, along a longitudinal axis of the implant extractor, to move the pair of jaws from the first position to the second position, involves distal movement of the shaft pivotably rotating each jaw, about two axes, to move the pair of jaws from an open position to a closed position configured to clamp an implant to be extracted.
