Abstract

The invention relates to a process for purifying a gas stream (GS) containing hydrogen, nitrogen, ammonia, and potentially water, in particular a gas stream exiting an ammonia cracker (10), comprising the step of passing the gas stream through a Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA) unit (11) comprising at least three columns (C1, C2, C3), wherein two columns operate in a regeneration phase, with a regeneration gas flowing through said columns in series to release ammonia (NH□) and potentially water (H□O) adsorbed during the adsorption phase; and operating the columns (C1, C2, C3) in a cyclic manner so that each column alternates between the adsorption phase and the regeneration phase.
