Abstract
A turbine engine rotor has a central longitudinal axis and includes: a central shaft having an outer diameter seal groove (200); a disk stack having a number of disks encircling the shaft; and a seal (120) captured in the groove (200) and facing or engaging an inner diameter surface (170) of one of the disks. The seal (122) is wound about the central longitudinal axis for at least 400°.
