Abstract

A method of monitoring a fuel nozzle (16) of an aircraft engine (10) includes supplying fuel to a combustor (22) of the aircraft engine (10) using the fuel nozzle (16) during operation of the aircraft engine (10), and sensing an operating condition of the aircraft engine (10) applicable to a duration during which the fuel nozzle (16) is supplying fuel to the combustor (22). A machine learning algorithm is executed to associate the operating condition of the aircraft engine (10) and the duration with a health degradation of the fuel nozzle (16). A servicing status for the fuel nozzle (16) is annunciated based on the health degradation of the fuel nozzle (16).
