Abstract

A flow path switching valve includes a housing (31) and a valve element (60), in which first, second, and third refrigerant flow paths that communicate a valve chamber (31A) in the housing (31) with an outside of the housing (31) are formed in the housing (31), the valve element (60) includes a first passage (61) that connects the first and second refrigerant flow paths in a first orientation, connects the first and third refrigerant flow paths in a second orientation, and in which a refrigerant having a first pressure flows, and a second passage (62) that communicates with the third refrigerant flow path in the first orientation, communicates with the second refrigerant flow path in a second orientation, and in which a refrigerant having a second pressure higher than the first pressure flows, the valve chamber (31A) and the second passage (62) communicate with each other when the valve element (60) is in a first orientation or a second orientation, and the flow path switching valve includes a pressure equalizing mechanism (80) that is switchable between a mode of connecting the first passage (61) and the valve chamber (31A) and a mode of canceling the connection, and allows connection of the first passage (61) and the valve chamber (31A) when the valve element (60) is in the first orientation or the second orientation.
