Abstract

The present invention relates to a system (1) for inspecting a penstock (100) of a hydroelectric plant, comprising: - a probe (2) configured to be inserted into the penstock (100) so as to rest on an internal surface (100a) thereof and provided with: - a main body (20) extending along a longitudinal axis (X-X), - a detection unit (22) comprising at least one inclination sensor (22a) configured to transduce the inclination of the main body (20) with respect to a vertical direction (V-V) into an inclination signal (Si), - an acquisition unit (23) comprising at least one imaging device (23a, 23b) configured to acquire visual content of the interior of the penstock (100), - movement means (3) configured to lower the probe (2) along the penstock (100) at a controlled speed by opposing the force of gravity. The probe is characterized by the fact that it comprises steering members (4) provided with: - a steering element (40) rotatably mounted on the main body (20) around the longitudinal axis (X-X) and configured to come into contact with the internal surface (100a) of the penstock (100), - an electronic control unit (42) configured to control the angular position of the steering element (40) around the longitudinal axis (X-X) as a function of the inclination signal (Si) so as to maintain the probe (2) in a determined angular position around the main axis (A-A) of the penstock (100) during its advancement therein.
