Abstract

An apparatus and method for estimating capacity dispersion of a battery cell, in which a relative capacity difference between battery cells in a battery pack is extracted using charge and discharge data in an actual use environment, includes a processor, and a memory configured to store instructions executed by the processor, wherein the processor calculates a partial capacity of each battery cell with respect to a common operating voltage range of the battery cells based on a voltage of each battery cell, and estimates the capacity dispersion of the battery cell using the partial capacity of each battery cell.
