Abstract
A secondary battery (100) includes an electrode assembly (10), a case (110) accommodating the electrode assembly (10), a safety vent (150) formed on a surface of the case (110) and includes a notch (152), and a coating layer (160) disposed on the surface of the case (110) on which the safety vent (150) is formed. The case (110) may include a first surface (210) being open and a second surface (220) being open and opposite to the first surface (210).
