Abstract
An imaging system captures images of a patient during a medical scan using a scanner having a scanning system and a patient support that is configured to move relative to the scanning system. A set of one or more optical cameras is mounted in a fixed position relative to the scanning system and directed towards the patient support for capturing images. A position input identifying a patient position is received, and virtual views are created by image post-processing. The post-processing involves adapting an orientation and/or focal depth for the virtual view generation in dependence on the patient position. A virtual view image sequence is then generated for display.
