Abstract

A separation chamber for an electrostatic separator and a method for performing electrostatic separation, where the separation chamber comprises a rectifier (1) of the flow of particles of a separated mixture, at least two separation zones (3a, 3b) positioned downstream thereof provided with at least two dedicated high-voltage electrodes (4) for separately generating an electric field with a selection of the following parameters: shapes and/or sizes of the individual high-voltage electrodes (4), values of the applied electric voltage, polarity of the voltage of the high-voltage electrodes (4), orientation or inclination of each high-voltage electrode (4) relative to the input direction of the flow of the particles of the separated mixture, the position and the uniform or non-uniform placement of the high-voltage electrodes (4) around the central axis of the separation chamber passing in the direction of the flow of the particles of the separated mixture, wherein collection collectors (5) are positioned by the separation zones (3a, 3b) in the direction of the flow of the particles of the separated mixture.
