Abstract

A robot includes a second arm, a shaft provided at a distal end section of the second arm and configured to rotate about a third axis and to move up and down along the third axis, a first motor configured to generate power for rotating the shaft, a second motor configured to generate power for moving the shaft up and down, and a first transmission section. The first transmission section includes a first pulley, a second pulley, a first endless belt wound around the first pulley and the second pulley, a third pulley, a fourth pulley, and a second endless belt wound around the third pulley and the fourth pulley. The second pulley and the third pulley are located below the second motor in a first direction parallel to the third axis.
