Abstract

A liquid discharge apparatus includes: a conveyor (31) to convey a medium in a conveyance direction; a liquid discharger (22) configured to discharge a liquid in a discharge direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction, onto a medium conveyed by the conveyor (31); and a heater (32) configured to heat the medium onto which the liquid has been applied, and the heater (32) includes: multiple near-infrared lamps (111) to irradiate the medium with near-infrared rays; and an infrared wavelength converter (114) to convert a wavelength of the near-infrared rays emitted from the multiple near-infrared lamps (111), and the infrared wavelength converter (114) is: disposed between the multiple near-infrared lamps (111) and the conveyor (31) in the discharge direction; and separated from the conveyor in the discharge direction.
