Abstract
The present disclosure includes: a stacking unit (4) capable of stacking the print medium discharged, by use of a first stacking part (41) and a second stacking part (42) installed to be movable in a first direction relative to the first stacking part (41); a detection unit (74) capable of detecting a position of the second stacking part (42); and an acquisition unit (71) configured to control movement of the second stacking part (42) in the first direction and acquire the position of the second stacking part (42) based on a detection result obtained by the detection unit (74), wherein the acquisition unit (71) is configured to acquire the position of the second stacking part (42) at a start of printing by a printing unit (3), in accordance with the detection result obtained by the detection unit (74) while the second stacking part (42) is moved in the first direction.
