Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the depolymerization of a silicone formulation comprising (A) at least one organopolysiloxane polymer (A), wherein the process comprises a step of reacting the at least one organopolysiloxane polymer with (B) at least one base catalyst, preferably at least one metal hydroxide, (C) at least one alcohol, and (D) water at a temperature of >50°C, preferably >60°C, more preferably >70°C, even more preferably >75°C, most preferably >80°C.The invention further relates to an organopolysiloxane polymer (E1), a cyclic organosiloxane (E2), and a reaction mixture comprising said organopolysiloxane polymer (E1) and cyclic organosiloxane (E2) obtainable by said depolymerization process, and organopolysiloxane polymer (E2-1) obtainable by ring opening polymerization of the cyclic organosiloxane (E2). The invention also relates to the process for preparing said organopolysiloxane polymer (E2-1). In addition, the invention relates to a curable composition comprising said organopolysiloxane polymer (E1) and/or cyclic organosiloxane (E2) and/or organopolysiloxane polymer (E2-1), an adhesive, sealant, coating material, lubricant, grease, additive, skin care products, shampoos, implants, prostetics, tubing, potting, encapsulation, insulation, gasketing, vibration dampening, bakeware, textile or fabric coating, or waterproofing agents comprising said organopolysiloxane polymer (E1) and/or cyclic organosiloxane (E2) and/or organopolysiloxane polymer (E2-1), and use thereof.
