Abstract

A system (10) includes an inlet portion (42) of a gas turbine system (18). The inlet portion (42) includes an inlet casing (110). The inlet casing (110) includes an inlet casing portion (118) and an additional inlet casing portion (116) removably coupled to the inlet casing portion (118). The inlet portion (42) also includes a bearing housing (112) having a bearing housing portion (152) disposed between the inlet casing portion (118) and the additional inlet casing portion (116). The bearing housing portion (152) is removably coupled to the inlet casing portion (118), and the bearing housing (112) is configured to house a bearing (158, 160) configured to at least partially support a rotor (60). The inlet portion (42) also includes a reinforcement assembly (114) extending axially between a surface (348) of the bearing housing portion (152) and a surface (172) of the additional inlet casing portion (116). The reinforcement assembly (114) is configured to transfer a rotor axial load from the bearing housing portion (152) to the additional inlet casing portion (116).
