Abstract

A pressure limiting valve (10) for a commercial vehicle is provided which is electronically controllable. The pressure limiting valve (10) comprises a casing (11). The casing comprises a supply conduit (13) configured to receive gas (G), a circuit conduit (14) configured to provide the gas (G) to a pneumatic circuit of the commercial vehicle, a control conduit (16), and an exhaust (15). The pressure limiting valve (10) comprises a shut-off element (30) disposed in the casing (11) and displaceable to selectively allow the gas to flow from the supply conduit (13) to the circuit conduit (14). The pressure limiting valve (10) comprises a solenoid (41) disposed in or projecting into the casing (11) and energizable to selectively cause the displacement of the shut-off element (30). Techniques of operating the pressure limiting valve (10) are also disclosed.
