Abstract

A liquid desiccant distributor/fluid distributor (102) and a dehumidifier (100) are disclosed. The dehumidifier (100) includes a contact media (140), a liquid desiccant sump (150) configured to collect liquid desiccant flowed over the contact media (140), and the liquid desiccant distributor (102) configured to evenly distribute the liquid desiccant over the contact media (140). The liquid desiccant distributor includes a liquid desiccant distributor box (104) having a tray (106) defined along a longitudinal span of the liquid desiccant distributor box (104), and a plate (110) configured to collect the excess liquid desiccant overflowed from the tray (106) thereover. The plate (110) includes apertures (208) configured to dispense the collected liquid desiccant to the contact media (140). The tray (106) is defined to uniformly distribute the liquid desiccant over the plate (110), which, when the liquid desiccant accumulates up to a standing height where static head pressure is greater than the surface tension, dispenses the liquid desiccant to the contact media (140) uniformly.
