Abstract

A thermal component includes a wick with wick portions of different porosities. Based in part on the multiple wick portions, the thermal component forms a dual condenser thermal component. Also, based on the wick portions having different porosities, the wick portions may apply different capillary forces to a liquid therein. This may cause the liquid to flow at different speeds through different wick portions. This causes decreased liquid pressure drop in higher porosity wick portions. As a result, the liquid flow rate for a given maximum capillary pressure increases, thereby allowing the thermal component to increase the heat transport capabilities.
