Abstract

A method (300) includes obtaining, from a first sensor (211), a first pressure, the first pressure exerted through a volume of oil (207) in an oil tank (205) of an aircraft upon the first sensor (211), the first sensor (211) disposed near a sensor port (209) proximate to a bottom of the oil tank (205). The method includes obtaining, from a second sensor (215), a second pressure, the second pressure comprising an atmospheric pressure of the oil tank (205) or of an environment external to the oil tank (205), determining a pressure differential between the first pressure and the second pressure, and determining an oil level of the oil tank (205) based on the pressure differential and an expected oil density.
