Abstract

Proposed concepts aim to provide schemes, solutions, concepts, designs, methods, and systems pertaining to a coil arrangement for use in an MRI system. In particular, embodiments provide a coil arrangement including two different coil arrays (110, 121, 122). An actuator (130) and controller (140) are used together to automatically move the second coil array (121, 122) relative to the first coil array (110) between an undeployed position (Figure 1A), which permits patient positioning, and a deployed position (Figure 1B), which is suitable for imaging using both coil arrays.
