Abstract

An optical fiber cable (300) comprising a plurality of optical fibers (100, 200), with one or more core region (102) and a cladding region (108), designed to minimize micro and macro bend losses for high-performance communication systems. In particular, the optical fiber cable (300) includes a plurality of intermittently bonded optical fiber ribbons (804), each consisting of multiple parallel and adjacent optical fibers (100, 200), with bonded regions providing structural integrity. Further, each optical fiber (100, 200) within the ribbons (804) features one or more glass core regions (102) and a cladding region (108), optimized to reduce signal loss.
