Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a flight control method for controlling a formation of a plurality of aircraft, comprising the steps of: determining an initial formation state of the plurality of aircraft; establishing a final formation state of the plurality of aircraft; generating a plurality of candidate trajectories for each aircraft from an initial position of the respective aircraft to at least one end position in the final formation state; applying at least one constraint to the plurality of candidate trajectories for each aircraft to provide a reduced trajectory set, wherein the at least one constraint comprises an aircraft-specific parameter; selecting a final trajectory set, each comprising a trajectory from each reduced trajectory set of the corresponding aircraft, such that the final trajectory set is collision-free; and providing the respective trajectory according to the final trajectory set to each corresponding aircraft.
