Abstract

The disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method comprising:- obtaining a set of requests, wherein each request of the set of requests is a request to carry out an action on a respective sample tube and wherein each request of the set of requests is associated with a respective request priority for that request;- determining, based on the set of requests, rack attribute data indicative, for each rack of a set of racks contained in a laboratory device, of a respective set of attributes of that rack, wherein each rack of the set of racks is configured to hold one or more sample tubes and holds or is assigned to hold a respective set of sample tubes, and;- determining, based at least on the rack attribute data, rack priority data indicative, for each rack of the set of racks, of a respective rack priority of that rack; and- determining, based on the rack priority data, a set of instructions for handling the set of racks contained in the laboratory device.
