Abstract

A proximity sensor device (101) comprising: a first coil arrangement comprising a first excitation coil (TX1) and a first receiver coil (RX1) implemented in at least one first RDL layer; a second coil arrangement comprising a second excitation coil (TX2) and a second receiver coil (RX2) implemented in at least one second RDL layer, spaced from the first RDL layers by at least 200 µm; a semiconductor device (10) arranged in a space between the first and second RDL layers, and comprising an excitation circuit (213; 313) for exciting the excitation coil, and a receiver circuit (214; 314) for receiving one or more signals; and an evaluation circuit (215; 315) for determining a position of an electrically conductive target (102), which is movable towards and away from the proximity sensor device. A proximity sensor system comprising said device and said movable target. A method of producing the proximity sensor device.
