Abstract

The present invention relates to a cooking hob, in particular to a method for operating an induction hob when carrying out cooking programs such as heating, defrosting and cooking. The method comprises an initialization phase, where a container to be heated is placed on the cooking zone of the induction hob and an automatic cooking program is selected; a detection phase, where upon the activation of the cooking program and before any power is applied, the initial temperature of the cooking zone is measured by means of a temperature sensor arranged between the induction module and the cover element on which the container is placed; a calculation phase, where a processing unit calculates the temperature difference between the final temperature and the initial temperature; and an evaluation phase, where a processing unit compares the temperature difference with predefined threshold.
