Abstract

Various aspects relate to a method including: for each of multiple meta-task dataset meta-task datasets, determining a meta-task Gaussian process, GP, that represents multiple objective functions and models a respective other process related to a technical process by a meta-task mean and covariance; determining a prior GP of a target-task multi-objective model representing the multiple objective functions with a prior mean that is a weighted sum of the meta-task means and a prior covariance that is a total of a target-task covariance and a weighted sum of the meta-task co-variances, wherein weights for the weighting include a weight for each combination of the multiple objective functions and the meta-task datasets; determining an adapted GP by adapting hyperparameters of the prior GP; determining a posterior GP of the target-task multi-objective model by conditioning the adapted GP on a target-task dataset; and controlling the physical or chemical process using the posterior GP.
