Abstract

In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a voltage limiter for use in a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, the voltage limiter comprising: a first voltage line coupled to an output of a rectifier of the RFID tag, wherein the voltage limiter is configured to receive an output voltage of the rectifier on said first voltage line; a first shunting element comprising an input and an output, wherein the output of the first shunting element is coupled to ground; a second shunting element comprising an input and an output, wherein the input of the second shunting element is coupled to the first voltage line and the output of the second shunting element is coupled to the input of the first shunting element; a series regulating element comprising a first input, a second input and an output, wherein the first input of the series regulating element is coupled to the first voltage line and the output of the series regulating element is coupled to a supply voltage node of one or more circuits of the RFID tag; and a second voltage line coupled to the output of the second shunting element and to the second input of the series regulating element.
