Abstract
An integrated circuit for a wireless charging device, the integrated circuit configured to: activate a near field communication, NFC, field for communicating with a receiver device; send a first NFC command message to the receiver device; receive a first NFC response message from the receiver device; temporarily deactivate the NFC field during receipt of the first NFC response message from the receiver device; send a second NFC command message to the receiver device subsequent to the temporary deactivation; and determine if the receiver device comprises a passive NFC tag or a powered NFC device based on a response of the receiver device to the second NFC command message.
