A thermal barrier fixed to a surface of a material exposed to high temperatures comprising a bond coat layer fixed to the surface of the material to be protected and a thermal insulating ceramic layer fixed to the bond coat layer. The bond coat comprises a first and a second layer distinct from each other and both composed of a MCrAlY+N alloy; wherein M is selected from Ni and Co, and N is selected from the group composed of Re, Ir, Si, Ta and Pt; the first and second layers have a different % by weight of the elements.

A nuclear reactor includes a vessel (2) internally defining a pool (3), a cooling fluid (CF) in the pool (3), and a core (6) housed in the vessel (2) and comprising a plurality of fuel elements (8) at least partially immersed in the cooling fluid (CF) and extending along respective longitudinal axes (A). For each fuel element (8), the nuclear reactor is provided with respective reversible locking members (17), configured to axially constrain adjacent fuel elements (8) to one another and to axially constrain the outermost fuel elements directly or indirectly to the vessel (2), so as to prevent the extraction of the constrained fuel elements (8). The nuclear reactor is further provided with axial adjustment devices (30, 40) configured to adjust an axial distance between respective fuel elements (8) and the respective locking members (17).

A gas turbine engine includes a compressor (2), a combustor (3), a turbine (5), a primary supply system (6) supplying a primary fuel (F1) containing ammonia, a secondary supply system (7) supplying a secondary flow (F2) containing air and/or a fuel, and a control system (8). The combustor (3) includes a combustion chamber (12), a plurality of burner assemblies (10), each having a respective reaction zone (Zt) inside the combustion chamber (12), and a plurality of injectors (11), configured to inject the secondary fluid (F2) downstream of the reaction zones (Zt) of the burner assemblies (10). The control system (8) is configured to control the primary supply system (6) so that the burner assemblies (10) transform a first mixture having a first fuel-air equivalence ratio (ϕ1) greater than 1 in the reaction zone (Zt) and to control the primary supply system (6) so that the injectors (11) inject the secondary fluid (F2) into the combustion chamber (12) with a second fuel-air equivalence ratio (ϕ2) lower than 1.
