The document processing system comprising a user interface, a print controller, a print engine and an editing system for specifying a finisher to be used in the document processing system for finishing the print job. The editing system is configured to receive by means of the user interface specifications of processing actions for the finisher in a printer and finisher domain specific language, to automatically generate constraint models based on the processing actions, and to automatically generate an executable finishing model runnable in the print controller. The print controller is configured to provide, by executing the finishing model, processing parameters and process optimizations to an objective of the end product resulting from the print job, and to process the print job while taking the provided processing parameters and provided process optimizations into account. |

A printing method for printing a digital image on a substantially flat substrate, the printing method comprising the steps of providing the digital image comprising a raster of a plurality of pixels, the digital image comprising colour information for each pixel, providing a height channel to the digital image defining a height for each pixel, the height having a minimum value, discriminating in the digital image for each pixel a relief part, a white part and a skin part, the parts constituting the height of the pixel and the relief part comprising an arbitrary colorant composition, the white part comprising a number of colorants including a white colorant and the skin part comprising colorants according to a colour as defined by the colour information for each pixel, providing an inking mask comprising a binary image of areas of the substrate to be finished and areas of the substrate not to be finished, image processing of the digital image by applying the inking mask to the image, wherein the height of a pixel within an area of the substrate to be finished is reduced by substantially reducing a height of the relief part of said pixel, and wherein the height of a pixel within an area of a substrate not to be finished is left unchanged, and printing the processed image obtained in the image processing step on the substrate. |

In order to provide versatile and automated transferring of sheet stacks (S) to and/or from sheet printing systems an assembly of a sheet stack handling apparatus and a sheet stack transporting robot (200) is provided. The robot comprises a sheet stack support (230), a driving mechanism (206) for moving robot and a wireless signal emitter configured to emit an identification signal. The apparatus comprises a sheet stack support (120), an access door (112), an access door actuator for opening and closing the access door, a wireless signal receiver, and a controller configured for comparing the identification signal received by the wireless signal receiver to a print medium identifier prescribed by print job. The controller opens the access door if the identification signal corresponds to the print medium identifier. The sheet stack support of the apparatus is provided in a slideable tray which makes it accessible to both human operators and robots. |
