Safe walls, systems and methods are disclosed. A safe wall comprises: an outer-facing wall formed of sheet metal; an interior-facing wall formed of sheet metal; one or more molded concrete panels secured between the outer-facing wall and the interior-facing wall via studs manufactured on an interior surface of the outer-facing wall, wherein the studs extend perpendicular to the interior surface; and reinforcement rods extending through rod apertures in sides of the one or more molded concrete panels and secured to the sides.

An automated teller machine (ATM) and at least one system are disclosed. The automated teller machine (ATM) comprises: a slot configured to receive media; a set of rollers configured to convey the media from the slot to a bin; and a central roller configured to corrugate the media as it is conveyed by the set of rollers.

At least one ratcheting shutter flange system and an automated teller machine (ATM) are disclosed. The ratcheting shutter flange system comprises: a first flange including a first set of ratcheting teeth, the first flange mechanically engaged with a shutter such that when the first flange rotates, the shutter rotates; a second flange including a second set of ratcheting teeth configured to mesh with and engage the first set of ratcheting teeth on the first flange; wherein when a motor is activated to cause the second set of ratcheting teeth of the second flange to engage with the first set of ratcheting teeth of the first flange, the first flange, the second flange, and the shutter rotate together; and wherein when the shutter is forcibly rotated directly, the first flange is configured to ratchet with respect to the second flange without moving the second flange.

At least one automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in a range of motion; a number of rollers configured to engage one or more bank notes by passing through the stage plate when the stage plate is at a picking location within the range of motion, the number of rollers coupled to two different roller axles; and a belt drive coupled between the two roller axles wherein the belt drive engages the two roller axles at a first roller axle diameter and a second roller axle diameter.

An automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine, comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in a range of motion; a pusher plate, wherein the pusher plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in the range of motion, wherein the pusher plate is integrally formed, and includes a cutout in a front portion to accommodate grasping stacked bank notes from below the cutout; the stage plate and the pusher plate defining a bottom compartment between the stage plate and the pusher plate, and a top compartment between a top of the pocket and the pusher plate, the bottom compartment configured to receive a stack of one or more received bank notes from a user, and the top compartment configured to receive any rejected items from the stack of one or more received bank notes; a stacking lever in a front portion of the top compartment, the stacking lever including a plurality of integrally formed fingers connected at an integrally formed lower edge.

A method, media recycling device and system are disclosed. The method comprises receiving a media item at a media terminal; determining the media item is an exception media item; storing the exception media item in a two-way exception escrow of a media recycling device within the media terminal; logging metadata associated with a stored exception media item including an exception type and a position within the two-way exception escrow; receiving a command to access the stored exception media item; and responsive to the command, automatically transporting the exception media item from the two-way exception escrow to a destination.

A through-the-wall automated teller machine (ATM) and a method are disclosed. The through-the-wall automated teller machine (ATM) comprises: a fan; at least one light-emitting diode (LED); and a thermoelectric generator (TEG) configured to harness a temperature difference between an interior portion of the through-the-wall ATM and an environment external to the through-the-wall ATM to generate energy to power the fan and the at least one LED, the TEG including a first face exposed to the interior portion of the through-the-wall ATM and a second face opposite the first face, the second face exposed to the environment.

A staging plate for an automated teller machine (ATM) and an automated teller machine (ATM) are disclosed. The staging plate includes a first surface configured to support media inserted into a pocket of the ATM; and a second surface connected to the first surface, an exterior angle between the first surface and the second surface being greater than 180 degrees and less than 270 degrees, wherein the second surface is configured to guide media handled by a user to the first surface.

An automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket; a fascia located around the pocket on an exterior surface of the automatic teller machine; a shutter that is configured to slide in a slot between the pocket and the fascia; and a side guide located on a side of the pocket, wherein the side guide includes a moveable tab, the moveable tab configured to occupy a portion of the slot when the shutter is retracted, and the moveable tab configured to retract from the slot when the shutter is extended to cover the pocket.

A system, media conveyance device and automated teller machine (ATM) are disclosed. The system comprises: a metal shaft having at least one tapered surface; a gear having at least one complementary tapered surface on an internal bore, the at least one complementary tapered surface configured to interface with the at least one tapered surface of the metal shaft when the metal shaft is inserted into the internal bore; and a bowed retaining clip, which when engaged with a portion of the metal shaft, secures the gear to the metal shaft.
