The automatic teller machine comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in a range of motion; a number of rollers configured to engage one or more bank notes by passing through the stage plate when the stage plate is at a picking location within the range of motion, the number of rollers coupled to two different roller axles; and a belt drive coupled between the two roller axles wherein the belt drive engages the two roller axles at a first roller axle diameter and a second roller axle diameter.

An automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine, comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in a range of motion; a pusher plate, wherein the pusher plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in the range of motion, wherein the pusher plate is integrally formed, and includes a cutout in a front portion to accommodate grasping stacked bank notes from below the cutout; the stage plate and the pusher plate defining a bottom compartment between the stage plate and the pusher plate, and a top compartment between a top of the pocket and the pusher plate, the bottom compartment configured to receive a stack of one or more received bank notes from a user, and the top compartment configured to receive any rejected items from the stack of one or more received bank notes; a stacking lever in a front portion of the top compartment, the stacking lever including a plurality of integrally formed fingers connected at an integrally formed lower edge.

A system, media conveyance device and automated teller machine (ATM) are disclosed. The system comprises: a metal shaft having at least one tapered surface; a gear having at least one complementary tapered surface on an internal bore, the at least one complementary tapered surface configured to interface with the at least one tapered surface of the metal shaft when the metal shaft is inserted into the internal bore; and a bowed retaining clip, which when engaged with a portion of the metal shaft, secures the gear to the metal shaft.

An automated teller machine (ATM), a method and at least one machine-readable medium are disclosed. The automated teller machine (ATM) comprises: a first cassette configured to hold a first type of media; a replenishment cassette configured to hold any of a set of types of media, including the first type of media; a bill validator; a bill conveyor system configured to convey media from the first cassette to the replenishment cassette or from the replenishment cassette through the bill validator to the first cassette; processing circuitry; and memory, including instructions, which when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to cause media to be conveyed to or from the replenishment cassette.

An automated teller machine (ATM) with a cold-wallet interface and a machine readable media are disclosed. The ATM comprises: a user interface, a memory including instructions; and processing circuitry that, when in operation, is configured by the instructions to: receive, via the user interface, an instruction from a user for a cryptocurrency transaction, the cryptocurrency transaction including a transfer involving a cold wallet of the user; obtain a key from the cold wallet via a hardware interface of the ATM; perform the cryptocurrency transaction using the key; and erase the key from the ATM based on completion of a session between the user and the ATM.

An automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket in a range of motion; a number of rollers configured to engage one or more bank notes on the stage plate when the stage plate is at a picking location within the range of motion, the number of rollers including; two or more pick rollers along a first common axis of rotation, wherein the two or more pick rollers define a region between outermost pick rollers; and a number of transport rollers along a second common axis of rotation, the second common axis of rotation spaced apart from the first common axis of rotation, wherein the number of transport rollers includes a group of two or more transport rollers located laterally between the two or more pick rollers in the region and arranged symmetrically with respect to the two or more pick rollers.

At least one media deflector and an automated teller machine are disclosed. The media deflector comprises a spar configured to: connect to the roof plate; and rotate, through a first position to a second position, with respect to the roof plate when connected to the roof plate; and a set of fingers connected to the spar, a finger in the set of fingers including: a proximal portion configured to connect to the spar; a distal portion; and a connecting portion configured to: connect the proximal portion and the distal portion; and position the distal portion on an axis different than the proximal portion.

A card reader, method and system are disclosed. The card reader comprises a housing having a card slot configured to receive a chip-based card; a first probe positioned within the housing to connect with a chip when the chip-based card is inserted face up with a leading edge of the chip-based card being adjacent to the chip; a second probe positioned within the housing and rotated 180 degrees relative to the first probe to connect with the chip when the chip-based card is inserted face up with a trailing edge of the chip-based card being adjacent to the chip; a push mechanism configured to push the first probe or second probe into contact with the chip; and a control board configured to read data from the chip through either the first probe or second probe.

A pocket lower cover and an automated teller machine (ATM) are disclosed. The pocket lower cover includes a first surface configured to mount the pocket lower cover onto the ATM in a particular orientation with respect to a pocket of the ATM; a second surface configured to connect the first surface to a staging plate of the ATM when the pocket lower cover is mounted to the ATM in the particular orientation, the second surface connected to the first surface by an interior angle that is greater than ninety degrees; and a filler device configured to prevent paper media from fitting between the first surface and a shutter of the ATM configured to move to block or enable access to the pocket by a user.

An automatic teller machine and a method of receiving bank notes in an automatic teller machine are disclosed. The automatic teller machine comprises: a pocket to receive bank notes; a stage plate, wherein the stage plate is moveable up and down within the pocket; a fascia located around the pocket on an exterior surface of the automatic teller machine; a shutter that is configured to slide in a slot between the pocket and the fascia; and a side guide located on a side of the pocket, wherein the side guide includes a moveable tab, the moveable tab configured to occupy a portion of the slot when the shutter is retracted, and the moveable tab configured to retract from the slot when the shutter is extended to cover the pocket.
