An optical adaptor (2000) for mounting to a receptacle (3000) to optically couple connectorized optical cables (1, 2) comprises an optical interface (100) to optically couple a first connectorized optical cable (1) terminated by a first optical connector (10) and a second connectorized optical cable (2) terminated by a second optical connector (20). The optical adaptor (2000) further comprises a mounting element (200) being configured to insert the optical interface (100) and being mountable to the receptacle (3000). The mounting element (200) is secured to the receptacle (3000), when the first optical connector (10) is mounted to the mounting element (200) in a first state (S1), and the mounting element (200) is released from the receptacle (3000), when the first optical connector (10) is mounted to the mounting element (200) in a second state (S2) allowing to pull the optical adaptor (2000) out of the receptacle (3000). |

A fiber optic distribution device (20), comprising: a housing (21) defining an interior space (22) of the fiber optic distribution device (20), wherein at least one fiber optic cable (27) can be inserted from an exterior into the interior space (22) of the housing (21) and passed out from the interior space (22) of the housing (21) in the exterior; and at least one modular fiber optic management unit (30) mounted in the housing (21), wherein the or each modular fiber optic management unit (30) comprises several modules stacked above each other, namely at least a cable entry module for inserting at least one incoming fiber optic cable from the interior space (22) of the housing (21) into the respective fiber optic management unit (30) and for passing out least one outgoing fiber optic cable from the respective fiber optic management unit (30) in the interior space (22) of the housing (21), and at least one splice module comprising several splice trays for handling splice connections between fibers of the or each incoming fiber optic cable and fibers of fiber optic pigtails or fibers of the or each outgoing fiber optic cable; wherein the or each fiber optic management unit (30) is mounted in the housing (21) through mounting rails (31) in such a way that the respective fiber optic management unit (30) having a first orientation in an upright position of the same can be horizontally pulled out from the interior space (22) of the housing (21) or horizontally pushed into the interior space (22) of the housing (21) in said first orientation, the respective fiber optic management unit (30) being pulled out from the interior space (22) of the housing (21) can be pivoted around a vertical rotation axis (36) from said first orientation into a second orientation and vice versa from said second orientation into the first orientation while maintaining the upright position of the same.
