The method includes: obtaining power information applied to the assisted bicycle from the outside (110); determining a response speed of the assistance assembly based on the power information (120); and adjusting information related to the assistance torque output by the assistance assembly based on the response speed (130). The assistance assembly is controlled by adjusting a corresponding response speed according to the power information, so that the assistance assembly outputs the assistance torque at a more appropriate timing, thereby improving the intelligence level of the assistance and the user experience.
