An assembly comprising a wheel (200) and a non-pneumatic tire (300) is disclosed. The non-pneumatic tire (300) comprises a plurality of helical springs (315), each helical spring (315) comprising a first end portion, a second end portion, and an arching middle portion. Each helical spring (31) is interlaced with at least one other helical spring (315) thereby forming a laced toroidal structure extending about an entire circumference of the non-pneumatic tire (300). The first end portions of a plurality of helical springs (315) are directly secured to a first annular structure of the wheel (200) and the second end portions of the plurality of helical springs (315) are directly secured to a second annular structure of the wheel (200). The first end portion of each of the plurality of helical springs (315) are oriented coaxially with the second end portion of each of the plurality of helical springs (315). The plurality of helical springs (315) are constructed of a material that maintains strength and ductility down to 17 K. |

The system (10) comprises at least one sensor (30) mounted on the at least one tire (12) for measuring a pressure and a temperature of the at least one tire (12); means for transmitting the measured pressure data (62) and temperature data to a processor (38, 48); and a tire pressure model (54) being executed on the processor (38, 48), the tire pressure model (54) including: a driving event extractor (56) to extract cold pressure data (60) from the measured pressure data (62); a temperature compensator (64) to generate a compensated cold tire pressure (68) from the cold pressure data (60); a noise filter (70) to filter sensor noise and generate a filtered cold tire pressure (72) from the compensated cold tire pressure (68); a detection module (76) receiving the filtered cold tire pressure (72) and determining an air pressure leak rate of the at least one tire (12); and a leak notification (86) corresponding to the air pressure leak rate generated by the tire pressure model (54). |

A non-pneumatic tire (1) is disclosed comprising a circumferential tread portion (10) and a supporting structure (140) comprising a circumferential hub portion (141) and a plurality of supporting elements (130) which are arranged radially between the tread portion (10) and the hub portion (141) and which extend from the hub portion (141) towards the tread portion (10) to support the tread portion (10) on the hub portion (141). In one aspect, at least one of the supporting elements (130) comprises i) a first portion comprising a first elastomer composition having a first stiffness and ii) a second portion, radially adjacent the first portion, comprising a second elastomer composition having a second stiffness different from the first stiffness. In another aspect, at least one of the supporting elements (130) comprises a first elastomer composition having a first stiffness and at least one of the circumferential hub portion (141) and of a radially outer circumferential ring portion (142) supporting the circumferential tread portion (10) comprising a second elastomer composition different from the first elastomer composition and having a second stiffness different from the first stiffness. |
