A roof system for a vehicle comprises a closure panel (3) which is movable between a closed position in which it closes a roof opening (1) and an open position in which it opens the roof opening and is positioned at least partially above an adjoining portion of a roof part (2). An operating mechanism for the closure panel comprises a front device (7) that includes a lever (18) for moving the front edge of the closure panel (3) in a vertical direction. The lever (18) of the front device (7) is pivotally connected to a driving slide (17), is provided with a guide cam (23) which is at least partly in engagement with a stationary guide curve (10) and is in engagement with the closure panel (3) through a pin-curve assembly. A curve (24) of the pin-curve assembly is provided with a guiding curve section (24a) extending mainly in horizontal direction and allowing a corresponding pin (25; 25, 26) to slide along it in order to move the front side of the closure panel (3) at least in vertical direction when the lever (18) is driven by the driving slide (17) and the lever (18) rotates due to a displacement of the cam (23) of the lever through the stationary guide curve (10), and is also provided with a locking curve section (24b) extending mainly in vertical direction when a corresponding pin (26) is positioned in the locking curve section (24b) in order to allow the driving slide (17) to slide the closure panel (3) in longitudinal direction.

A glass panel assembly for use in a roof (1) of a vehicle, comprises a glass panel (2a), a frame (22) and an elongate lighting device (36). The glass panel comprises an interior main surface (20) and the interior main surface of the glass panel is configured to be directed to a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The frame (22) is adhered to the interior main surface (20) and comprises a shaped element. The shaped element is one of a recess (223) and a protrusion. The elongate lighting device (36) is coupled to the frame (22) by a mating shape engaging the shaped element. The lighting device is configured to directly illuminate at least a part of said passenger compartment.

A roof closure assembly for a vehicle comprises a frame (1) having an upper and lower side. A movable closure (4) for a roof opening (2) is movably supported by a movable support mechanism (9, 10) on the frame. An operating device includes at least one drive motor (6), at least a guide rail (11, 12) including the movable support mechanism for the closure and an elongate connecting member (7, 8) attached to the movable support mechanism and in engagement with the drive motor to enable the drive motor to drive the closure (4). The frame (1) comprises a through-hole (14) providing communication between the upper and lower side of the frame. The drive motor (6) is mounted to a lower side of a motor support (13), which is mounted with the connecting member to the upper side of the frame, such that the drive motor is accessible through the through-hole.

A multi-piece frame (5) for an open roof assembly is manufactured by providing a first frame element (20) having an edge and a first attachment area (21) adjacent to the edge; providing a second frame element (30) having a second attachment area (31); arranging the first attachment area and the second attachment area at least partly over each other; applying a fluid sealant (43) adjacent to the edge of the first frame element; applying a sealing element (40) on at least one of the first frame element and the second frame element and on the sealant, while the sealant is still at least partly fluid; and curing the sealant to provide a fluid-tight sealing between the first frame element, the second frame element and the sealing element. Thus, fluid tight connection between the sealing element and the sealant is provided in a reliable manner.
