A packaged elongate intravaginal device having a longitudinal axis and comprising: a. an elongate intravaginal device having a tapered end positioned at the front of the elongate intravaginal device and an oppositely disposed substantially flat end positioned at the rear of the elongate intravaginal device at a distance along the longitudinal axis, wherein the elongate intravaginal device has a diameter d and a maximum length L extending from said flat end to said tapered end along the longitudinal axis; and b. an overwrap substantially enclosing the elongate intravaginal device and having a longitudinal overlap seam disposed generally parallel to the longitudinal axis and extending along a length of said elongate intravaginal device, wherein: i. the seam includes one ply of overwrap material disposed at a first margin of an overwrap blank superposed on a second ply of overwrap material disposed at a second margin of the overwrap blank, opposite the first margin; and ii. the overwrap has a substantially continuous line of weakness that extends along a circumference of the elongate intravaginal device and across the seam and includes weakness elements superposed in each ply of the seam; wherein, the line of weakness originates from two symmetrically disposed ends , typically being oppositely disposed on either side of the longitudinal axis and generally connected to each other by a common transverse axis that runs perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and in that the distance between the substantially flat end positioned at the rear of the elongate intravaginal device and the furthest position P on the line of weakness along the longitudinal axis is greater than the diameter d of the elongate intravaginal device and less than 0.5L, so that said overwrap may be single-handedly opened to expose the rear of the elongate intravaginal device.

An absorbent article comprising a chassis including a liquid-pervious topsheet, a backsheet, and a liquid absorbent core disposed between the liquid-pervious topsheet and the backsheet, the chassis having a front region, a back region, a crotch region located between the front region and the back region, a longitudinal axis extending through the front and back regions, a lateral axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a first longitudinal side edge and a second longitudinal side edge, wherein the topsheet has a maximum width measured along the lateral axis where the topsheet has its greatest width and wherein the backsheet comprises a liquid impervious film layer and an outer cover layer, said absorbent article further comprising a pair of barrier cuffs extending in a longitudinal direction from the front region to the back region along the topsheet, each barrier cuff comprising an inwards unattached portion and an outwards attached portion with a hinge point therebetween, wherein the topsheet comprises one or more first zones and at least two second zones wherein the first zone(s) is substantially hydrophilic and wherein the second zones are hydrophobic; and wherein the attached portion of each of said barrier cuffs overlaps at least one of the second zones and does not substantially overlap the first zone(s); and/or wherein the attached portion of each of said barrier cuffs is positioned proximal or adjacent to a second zone and distal from said first zone(s) such that the attached portion is separated from said first zone(s) by said second zone.

A package comprising a bag and a stack of absorbent articles, wherein the bag comprises a multilayer plastic film, in particular multilayer plastic composite film, based on plastic recyclate (recycled plastic). The plastic film has a plastic recycled content of at least 50 wt.% based on the plastic film. The one or more absorbent articles comprise at least 5 wt.% of recycled content based on the total weight of the absorbent article excluding the absorbent core material. The package has an eco-factor of at least 0,05 according to the method herein.

An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid permeable topsheet and a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an acquisition distribution layer positioned between said topsheet and said absorbent core, wherein the absorbent core comprises absorbent material selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibers, superabsorbent polymers and combinations thereof, said absorbent core comprising at least one interconnected channel free of said absorbent material, wherein said channel has a length extending along a longitudinal axis and the absorbent core has a length extending along said longitudinal axis and wherein the length of said channel is from 10% to 95% of the length of said absorbent core wherein the acquisition distribution layer comprises a spunbond and/or carded nonwoven layer comprising synthetic fibers, wherein said synthetic fibers are comprised at a level of greater than 80%wt by weight of said acquisition distribution layer, and wherein said acquisition distribution layer has a basis weight of from 10 to 15 g/m<2>.

An apparatus for manufacturing an absorbent article, said apparatus comprising a supporting member for supporting a first sheet material along a surface thereof, wherein the surface of said supporting member is provided with at least one suction zone and at least one non-suction zone; a first application unit configured for applying a first absorbent material on said first sheet material on the supporting member; said first absorbent material being applied such that said first absorbent material is located on a portion of the first sheet material corresponding to the at least one suction zone, and wherein substantially no absorbent material is present on other one or more portions of the first sheet material corresponding to the at least one non-suction zone on at least one first attachment portion; a first sheet feed unit configured for applying a second sheet material on top of the first absorbent material on the first sheet material; optionally a first attachment unit configured for attaching said first sheet material to said second sheet material at least in the at least one first attachment portion; a second application unit configured for applying a second absorbent material on said second sheet material and/or first absorbent material; said second absorbent material being applied such that said second absorbent material is located on a portion of the second sheet material, and wherein substantially no absorbent material is present on other one or more portions of the second sheet material on at least one second attachment portion; a second sheet feed unit configured for applying a third sheet material on top of the second absorbent material on the second sheet material; a second attachment unit configured for attaching said second sheet material to said third sheet material and/or said first sheet material to said second sheet material at least in the at least one second attachment portion; wherein the first attachment portion and the second attachment portion are substantially congruent or substantially complementary.
