Abstract
The present invention concerns a method for remote optical powering and communication in an optical communication network (1). The present invention concerns also a corresponding termination device (2), optical splitters (4) and an optically powered device (51, 52, 53). A first termination device (2) sends a first light signal (6) having one or more first wavelengths and comprising communication data together with an associated second light signal (7) having one or more second wavelengths different from the one or more first wavelengths to an optical splitter (4). The optical splitter (4) receives the first light signal (6) and the second light signal (7) and forwards the second light signal (7) to at least one optically powered device (51, 52, 53) associated with at least one second termination device (31, 32, 33). The at least one optically powered device (51, 52, 53) receives the first light signal (6) and the second light signal (7), powers the at least one optically powered device (51, 52, 53) with the second light signal (7) and forwards the first light signal (6) to the at least one second termination device (31, 32, 33).
