Abstract

A balloon catheter (10) includes a core wire (70) and an opening control portion (33). The core wire (70) is formed of a long wire disposed in an outer shaft (30) and includes a pushing portion (72). The opening control portion (33) is provided in the outer shaft (30) and has a control hole (36b) that communicates with an inflation lumen (36). The opening area of the control hole (36b) in the opening control portion (33) is partially closed when the pushing portion (72) of the core wire (70) comes into contact with the control hole (36b).
