Abstract

The device i.e. management server (1), has a carpooling journey offer managing unit (2) with a receiving block (20) that receives a carpooling journey offer from a user i.e. driver (5), via Internet, voice and short message service interfaces. The unit has a memory to store the received offer associated with an offer identification code. A communication unit receives an offer identification code associated with the offer of a displayed offer list, from another user i.e. passenger (8), and allows communication of the latter user with the former user transmitting the offer. The offer identification code is in the form of digital code. The car pooling journey offer comprising geographical information such as departure place, arrival place and/or intermediate positions found on the journey, time information such as departure time, arrival time and/or journey time, and information relative to the user such as telephone number of user and/or electronic mail address of the user. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a data processing method for managing offers and requests for carpooling journeys (2) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a data processing method for managing offers and requests for carpooling journeys.
