Abstract

A recording apparatus, including: a support portion (60); a recording portion (9); a first casing (1b); a second casing (1a); a positioning mechanism (4, 5, 12, 13) including a guide pin (4, 5) and a guide hole (12, 13), for defining a relative position of the recording portion and the support portion by engagement of the guide pin and the guide hole when the second casing is positioned at a close position; and a movable member (14) disposed at one end of the guide hole for moving in a direction away from the other end of the guide hole, so as to be retracted from a moving region of the guide pin that moves relative to the guide hole in association a pivotal movement of the second casing, wherein the movable member is for biasing the guide pin engaging the guide hole in a direction toward the other end of the guide hole such that the guide pin contacts the other end.
