Abstract

A steering apparatus for a vehicle includes a main housing (10) formed in a box form provided with a pair of side walls (11, 12) extending in an axial direction of the main housing (10) with an opening between the pair of side walls (11, 12), and provided with opening portions (10a, 10b) at opposing ends in the axial direction. The steering apparatus also includes a movable column member (20) formed in a tubular form accommodated in the main housing (10) through one of the opening portions (10a, 10b) at the opposing ends of the main housing (10) in the axial direction. The steering apparatus further includes a resilient member (40, 40x, 40y), which is a plate spring, formed in one piece configured to fix to the main housing (10) at the pair of fixing portions (43, 44, 43x, 44x, 43y, 44y) in a state where the pair of thrust portions (41, 42, 41 x, 42x, 41 y, 42y), via thrust members (50), are thrusting the movable column member (20).
