Abstract
The method involves testing an omnidirectional transmission to detect an interruption of the transmission (201). An emergency shutdown of a machine to be controlled, is started (300) by the omnidirectional transmission of a stop instruction, in the event of provision of voluntary stop command i.e. emergency shutdown command, or in event of interruption of the omnidirectional transmission, where the transmission is a hertzian wave transmission. The voluntary stop command is provided from any point of a covered zone by a hertzian signal. An independent claim is also included for a remote control device for a machine.
